Men's Discipleship House
We are excited to announce the Freeway Gibsontown Discipleship House opened Tuesday, September 23, 2025. At the time of this post, we have one man who has committed to the program and room for three more. Our house leader, Brad Denney is eagerly accepting applications for admittance.
The Freeway Men’s Houses provide a safe and supportive Christ-centered environment for men to grow and develop their walk with the Lord. Our discipleship program is designed around principles found in the Word of God. Sobriety is the first step in long-term success; we believe discipleship is the key to life-long change.
Each man is mentored through one-on-one discipleship and will complete our Seasons Classes before graduation. They are taught the foundation for living a God honoring life. Men are taught to be Godly leaders in their homes and how to care for their families. They are taught the importance of restoring broken relationships with their children and family.
Through partnerships with local churches, each man is given the opportunity to serve in the community, at church, and at Freeway Ministries. They build lasting relationships that help them to develop Godly character, life skills, and accountability. The relationships often continue long after they graduate. It is truly a season that will change the rest of their life.
We welcome men from every demographic to deepen their relationship with God through our 12-month residential program. If you are interested in applying, please complete the request for application form to the right of this post.
$85
Cost of Incarceration Per Inmate Per Day
The national average to house an inmate is over $31,000 annually.
$0
Cost of our residential Discipleship House for Taxpayers
Freeway Ministries is funded completely by donors; we do not receive any government funding. All residents are paying taxes and contributing to the local economy.
$2.1M
Amount Freeway Ministries Saves Taxpayers Per Year
We are an alternative to prison in multiple counties throughout the U.S. When people are not incarcerated, we save the taxpayers money.
Freeway Ministries is more than just Discipleship Houses. It is a community of people that create a family. Many of our graduates still attend our services, spend holidays with us, and serve faithfully.
According to a recent study by the Department of Justice, up to 83% of prisoners are arrested again within the first 9 years after their release. 90 to 95% of graduates from the Freeway Discipleship House do not return to prison after completion of the program.
By teaching men and women how to live by following the principles found in the Word of God and creating a safe community for them to develop relationships, we are changing the trajectory of not only their lives, but also their community.

COMING SOON!!!!
MEN'S DISCIPLESHIP HOUSE!!
Thankfully the tree in the pictures above is off the house due to the generosity of Grace Point Fellowship Church and other friends of the ministry. Soon we will begin the repair work and getting the house ready to open.
Today, we invite you to have an eternal impact on a life for the glory of God as you give to Freeway Gibsontown toward the house repairs. Please pray and ask the Lord to guide you in giving. Your tax-deductible gift of $50, $100, $500, $1,000 or more will make a tangible difference, but every dollar matters.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
We are facing lost generations of people who are enslaved to drug and alcohol addictions. We all know someone in our family, circle of friends or where we work, someone whose life has been degraded by these addictions. Addiction often leads to homelessness, which is in the news daily. Often their addictions lead to a prison term for the associated behavior of crime to support their addiction.
Brad Denny was such a person. Brad grew up in Springfield, Missouri
being enabled by others, and he walked into this lifestyle and lived it until
he was 55 years old. His story can be viewed in the attached link, One Broken
Life, found below in this blog. Brad
attended Freeway Discipleship House in Springfield, Missouri and his life has
never been the same. The year-long program taught him Christian principles for
living and how to be a good citizen.
Accountability and camaraderie changed his whole life and
trajectory.
Brad attended additional training with
Freeway Springfield and has come to Kingsport, Tennessee to help us establish a
Men’s Discipleship House where he can help others break their bondage to their
addictions, as he has. Brad will be the House Manager and live with those who
seek to reclaim their lives.
We currently have a Ministry Building in Kingsport that can be modified
to house men. We have the architecture
drawings approved by the city for the needed modifications to have men living
in the building. The cost for the
modifications is as follows:
Fire alarm and
sprinkler system bid
$52,000
Fire rated
drywall upgrade and doors, A/C modifications. $15,000
Storage shed to
house displaced items.
$8,000
Total need is
$75,000
Please consider investing in our community and people’s lives by
financially supporting this great need. We are a 501C and get no government
funding. Freeway year long program graduates show success rates over 90%, they
never return to their addictions, and are working tax paying citizens.
You can support this great local need in numerous ways; a one-time gift, monthly support, prayer, share this opportunity with others or even volunteer.
